Aidan McCracken

Aidan is a Structural Engineer and Associate at DesignPoint Engineering & Surveying Ltd. He began his career at DesignPoint as a co-op student in 2018 and returned in 2020 after graduating from the Civil Engineering program at Dalhousie University. Prior to DesignPoint, Aidan fabricated and tested the applications of composite fiber reinforced polymer structural panels with Dalhousie’s Sustainable Infrastructure lab.

At DesignPoint, he works on structural design, analysis, and inspection projects including, steel, concrete, and timber systems. He has extensive training and experience in the inspection and assessment of existing buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.  Aidan is also experienced in Passive House modelling and the detailing of high-performance building assemblies. He is passionate about the development landscape in Nova Scotia and enjoys working on projects that have a positive impact on Nova Scotians and their communities. Aidan enjoys a collaborative approach to project delivery and is keen to approach new challenges with sustainable and innovative solutions. 

Aidan grew up in Bedford, Nova Scotia and recently moved back to Bedford, where he now lives with his partner Lee-Ann and their cat. Outside of work, Aidan enjoys playing guitar, gardening, golfing, rockhounding, and playing games with his family.
